I am one of the competitive swimmers at my university. I get up at around 4 am. And go to practice at 5 am. Ride my bicycle to the train station and take a 1-hour train to the college. I will always try to remain awake in school; then, I head back to the pool for practice in the evening. These hours of training added up to about 18 hours. There was no time to study, but I managed to spare some time to study and finished my first year in college with a 3.9 GPA. I retired from swimming in my earlier years, so it looked like I had plenty of time for reading. But comparing both the two stages of school, it was still a disaster. Let’s see a few tips to finish your homework quickly.
I had a challenging time getting up early and getting my homework done on time. If you find it hard to create time for homework, you will appreciate the story of Ted.
Ted was a student interested in many activities, including bodybuilding, dance, naturalism, and boxing. Ted excelled in his first year at Harvard, and yet he took seven courses. Ted had honors grades in 5 courses out of 7. Ted is the kind of student who attends every party and dances till sunrise and gets “A’s” in each class. Ted was a person who put most of his attention on studying his work. When it was time to study, he could have time for chilling and letting loose.
This method of studying helped him.
Below is the process that you will use to do your homework quickly.
Examine your homework to search for harder questions. And begin with those harder questions.
If you find out that the question you are doing is hard, leave it and do the next question that is easier. After you have solved the easy questions, come back, and work on the harder questions, you will find it easier.
This method works properly because your brain works in two different ways: the diffused and the focused.
Focused mode: Refers to when you concentrate on a question and solve it logically.
Diffused mode: Your mind thinks when you let it wander. During this time, your different parts of your brain hook up.
You need both the diffused and focused mode of thinking to solve problems.
Write down all sample points and questions in class.
For one to study, one needs to write down complete notes. There is no short cut.
Supposing your lecturer dictates the notes too fast. What do you do?
Please write down the question and answer it. Then find the solution later. Sample problems or questions are the best way to make sure that he is studying the right things for the examination.
When you are studying, even when you do not have the answer, you can work the solution from the back then find the answer later.
When one gets stuck, one can always refer to google. This method works when you are lagging, and your lecturer is the type who dictates notes very fast.
Write your notes in a way that you can teach someone else.
Ask yourself, if I were to teach myself starting from zero, what would I need to start or refer? Every small detail of the notes helps one through daily problems.
Conclusion.
In conclusion, make sure that you find the best methods that suit you as a student. Because what may work for me may not work for you.
